New Business Referral Group Forming in Billerica
Group to Become Billerica Chapter Of Business Network International, A Business and Professional Networking Organization That Offers Members The Opportunity To Share Referrals
Billerica, MA, August 2003—The Route 3 Referral Networking Group today
announced its formation and the start of the group's membership drive to attract people in a variety of professions who are serious about increasing their business through sharing ideas, contacts and, most importantly, referrals. When the group achieves a critical mass of participating members, it will become a chapter of Business Network International (BNI). BNI is a business and professional networking organization that provides an environment in which members develop personal relationships with dozens of other qualified business professionals. Last year, members of BNI passed over two million referrals which generated hundreds of millions of dollars worth of business for the members.
"BNI is the largest business-to-business referral network organization in the world and has helped to boost sales for many different professions," said Shayla Swoyer, principal of Customer Affects, a company specializing in marketing businesses to their local communities. "It's like having an extended sales force because 20 to 30 people can recommend your products or services when they meet people who could use them. Some participants in other chapters have added as many as 50 new clients in the first 2 years."
The Route 3 Referral Networking Group is seeking additional people from
Billerica and the surrounding towns. Professions being sought include auto mechanic, accountant, dentist, cleaning service, painter, landscaper, chiropractor, photographer, florist, sign maker, moving company, and more. Only one person from each profession is permitted to become a member of a BNI chapter to help guarantee exclusivity of referrals to members in each business category. Until the Route 3 Referral Networking Group achieves the critical mass to become a BNI chapter, anyone from any profession is welcome to attend and find out more about BNI and the opportunity to participate in a structured and supportive system of giving and receiving business.
